Triggers activate Scenes based on your location or the state change in another product.
A trigger can be product based or location based. Switch, Outdoor Switch, Socket, Wall Switch, and Wall Outlet can be used as triggers when the product is turned on or off. Location based triggers (Requires Apple TV 4th Gen. or iPad® Home Hub*) use the location of your iOS device to determine when you arrive or leave set locations. Examples of location based triggers: leaving home, arriving home, leaving work, etc.
Note: The administrator of the iCloud® account is the only person that can create triggers. Shared users cannot create triggers.
*In order to operate as a hub, iPad® must be connected to a power source.
Follow these steps to create a trigger:

Location based triggers can also be set to only occur after sunset.
